Sweetie
A hot summer’s night
Red light glowing in
the distance
Smoke laying low
Taxing both the lungs
and the soul
Amid the danger
A life far distant
Almost missed among
the commotion
But nature’s pulse cannot
be ignored
Covered in soot
She makes her way
Their arms open
Their arms open
Salvation awaits
From the ashes of the
forest
Comes an injured
being
Dropped off at the
station
Her every need met
Her name unknown,
treated my man
While healing the
souls of mankind
If only for a short
moment
We understood the
Animal Kingdom
