Journey Through Manitou Springs/ Opening My Eyes

Walking around a world that was created to grow creativity and beauty. This place is for healing of the mind, body, and soul. The famous springs run through the town offering a place to stop and ponder at the beauty/ of this place. The sidewalks are full of history and stories, every inch of your step reflects the spirit of Colorado, the spirit of the land. Parks full of local Art gives a colorful reminder that Manitou is a canvas for the imagination.

Great minds have created the brush strokes, the clay, the metal that canvasses the serene mountain setting  of this town.  Every few steps you are graced with the present of a persons sweat and blood, the hard work put into creating something thoughtful. Concrete couches and metal sculptures line the path towards the center of the town where vendors and games are enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. The sound of the Ute Nation pounding on sacred drums echoes throughout the mountains, and competes with the falling sound of the healing spring waters. This place is a sacred gem, that has to be nurtured and groomed.

New art work feeds the hungry minds of thinkers and feelers alike. There are yellow ceramic ducks and black steel train that draw crowds towards them. There are park with picturesque walls, and carved out tree houses that allow children's imagination to run wild with excitement and wonder.

The old, the young, the creative and the concrete, they all flock to this place because it allows ones senses to relax and filter through ones thoughts. It's almost as if you were walking through a journal of your emotions; thinking throughout the eventful, through the meaningless, through the trail of your own thoughts and feelings. This place brings out the soul of a person, it pulls the weight of every day life off of your shoulders and allows your eyes to see color and technique.

The art on the street doesn't make this place more beautiful, this place makes the art more beautiful. It is a paradise at the food of Pikes Peak.
