Manitou Springs visit

My experience walking through Manitou Springs was entertaining and engaging. This trip made me view manitou in a whole different light.  I've been here many times before in the past twenty years and I realized how awesome this place really is.  There is magic here nestled in the cubby hole just below Pikes Peak.

The little place is full of artists, old town buildings, statues, art, and fun for everyone.  At any given time on one can be seen juggling, riding bicycles, playing music or artists just talking about art.  There are many coffee shops where tourists and locals hang out just to read a book or enjoy the summer weather.

The statues are just amazing.  I never really was encouraged to inquire about the statues and the art pieces that are stationed all around the streets of manitou.  There are so many awesome pieces of work that are for sale.  It makes you realize how talented these artists really are and how lucky we are to be able to come visit a place so close to where we all live.

There is a huge flood problem because of the run off from down the mountain.  This makes it easy to notice all of the sandbags that are placed by so many of the business's.  The community tries very hard to combat these flood issues to protect the wonderful town of Manitou Springs.  In order to preserve places like this we have to do everything in our power to keep the water away from the art and the business's.

I enjoyed my Saturday; the light rain made it a wonderful visit day and I plan to re-visit soon.
