Poem: An Owl's Flight

An Owl's Flight

All through day the sunshine flows
as night falls the moon will glow
From my window an owl sits and peers
into the night so firm and clear

With a simple flap of this bird’s wing
in the moonlight together we sing
Glowing pierce of eyes on its prey
coming down from above where it lay

Quietly into the deep without a hitch
soaring with the wind in perfect pitch
Demanding the night before the dawn
awake in the light that bears down on
