Wherever We Can Find a Home

I sit upon brick, hiding from the rays

The chirping is usually further away

I step closer to the sound's humble source,

A man made vessel filled with nature

My eyes catch a glimpse of a broken shell

A small fleshy creature calls out into the leaves

Unable to move, it waits for the matriarch,

For its brothers and sisters to join it in breath

I step away, waiting for the birds to find peace

To choose this place as their home

Nobody understands the ANIMAL KINGDOM.
